St. Coloman was first constructed in a Gothic style and its first documented concentration was in 1495. The Church was renovated in the present Baroque style between 1678 and 1685. St. Coloman stands alone adorning a beautiful open meadow with inspiring snow covered Tyrolean Alps as a backdrop. For me, best time for an annual photo pilgrimage to St. Coloman in mid Spring. I time a trip for a clear sunrise between 13th and 18th of May with full blooming buttercups and plenty of snow covering the Alps. Dawn offers the best light and shadows, and avoids hordes of bused in tourist rudely running in front of your camera lens. Be forewarned, any later in May one risks the local farmer making his first hay cut, including the buttercups.
